Jeff Dunham: Comedian & Humanitarian

Jeff Dunham has been credited to bringing ventriloquism back to life. He was an adopted child and started learning at the age of eight when his parents have him his first dummy. Today he is one of the best known stand up comedians not only in the states but world wide. With three daughters he is also a father, and comedian, and to many a halping hand.

Jeff Dunham's characters are funny, lively, and take on a life of their own. Walter is the grumpy retiree, Peanut is a purple character that often makes fun of Jeff himself and has been

dubbed by many as the Bad Kid. Jose Jalapeno on a Stick is a south of the border pepper. Bubba J is a redneck. My personal favorite Achmed the Dead Terrorist whom denies being muslim (after all his butt says Made in China). In Jeff Dunham's Identity Crisis Tour 2010 we met Diane and Achmed Jr.

Jeff Dunham donates $1.00 of all ticket sales to local chrarities in that area. A rough breakdown of his charitable efforts are as follows: 71% goes to local food banks such as The North Texas Food Bank. 11% goes to the

Red Cross which helps a variety of people including soldiers and their families. The rest of Jeff Dunham's charitable contributions goes to miscellaneous charities in a variety of areas. Some of his more well known contributions include November 2009 when he donated $25,000.00 to St. Marys Food Bank. February 2010 when he donated $20,000.00 to Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank. Also his very charitable donation of $40,000.00 donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

I am a huge fan of his website which can be found at www.jeffdunham.com. There you can find his upcoming tour dates, past photos, some video clips, and much much more. There is also a Jeff Dunham store that can be accessed from his website that has a variety of merchandise available including his book, dvds, apparel, squat plush dolls, bobbleheads that talk, and my personal favorite the animatronic talking dolls.

I hope other comedians, actors, singers, and entertainers in general can learn to be a little more giving like Jeff Dunham. He is not only an entertainer, but a humanitarian and I applaud him in this.
