There are just some things that happen in this world that will forever be etched into my memory.
1. The birth of every single one of my children.
Its funny but I can recall down to what the weather was like outside on the day every single one of my children were born. In a funny moment I actually gave birth to my two eldest sons not only in the same hospital but in the same exact room.
2. Graduation day.
Both a scary but exciting day. I was terrified that I would trip going across the stage. I also remember how it was overcast and I was terrified to wear makeup because I feared it would rain and run down my face. I was excited because I was about to open a new chapter in my life; at the same time I was terrified of the unknown and all the changes that ending high school brought.
3. The day I met my husband.
I will never forget the day that I met my husband, The first words he ever said to me was I am a jerk. To this day I have not let him live those words down and its even become a small game to us. I will never forget the way he made me feel though. I was new to post, had few friends, and he offered a real genuine smile.
4. The day I joined the military.
If someone would have told me in high school that I would join the military I would have laughed at them and called them crazy. I never dreamed of being a soldier, I wanted a big career like accounting or buisness management. Look at me now three years in the military and I have never looked back. That first day is scary though. I left my kids for the first time, my family, and everything I knew. I raised my right hand and was shipped off to boot camp. I remember the Drill SGT getting in my face on the bus and all I could think was no you cant hit him.
5. Adopting my husky.
While my husband was deployed I wanted something to curl up in bed with. I originally got our husky as a surprise for him. His favorite breed of dog was husky and I knew he would be thrilled. I just didnt know how much I would fall in love with her. To this day when I am feeling sad or sick she tries to crawl in my lap to offer me comfort. I drove over six hours to adopt her, and I have never regretted it.
